Kids Go Fishing

Four days in May and June provide kids with free fishing opportunities!  The Bill Earl Youth Fishing Event offers three Saturday’s in May at Hawk Island Park that focus on the “non fisher” and provide children with a rod, reel, tackle box to take home and lessons and demonstrations during the events.

The Youth Sports Event, at Wm. Burchfield Park, our third fishing event, will take place June 11, 2016 in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Free Fishing Weekend.  A Fishing Derby, the cornerstone event, offers kids  the chance to demonstrate their skills with a chance to win plenty of prizes and have fun.  The Youth Sports Day includes multiple demonstrations and hands on activities for children including; fly tying and casting, lure making, duck calling, archery, water safety and more.Kid with fish
